PCOS

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

In order to conceive you need functioning ovaries that release an egg, a sperm that can swim to penetrate that egg and a capable uterus to carry a baby to term. When we take a detailed medical history from you, one of the first steps is to establish if you are ovulating on a regular basis. Anovulation (not ovulating) is a common problem and we can help this process occur through ovulation induction. There are many reasons why ovulation is not occurring naturally and this can be anything from stress, being over or under weight to more complex conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders or ovarian failure caused by premature menopause or cancer treatments like chemotherapy

Serious Health Problems

Diet is very important when you suffer with this condition as most patients are insulin resistant, especially if they are overweight. The concern here is that the condition can lead to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even strokes.
